For all businesses in the modern age, social media plays a massive role - and especially in Roxby Downs, where, just like over 15 million other active users in Australia, our platform of choice is Facebook
Because of this, if you want to maximise the reach of your business you probably need to be making sure you're using Facebook the right way for you.
Luckily Regional Development Australia has organised a Facebook Masterclass with Social Media AOK on October 25th, at 5.30pm at the Community Youth Centre to help get everyone up to scratch.
Simone Douglas from Social Media AOK will be running the course, and she says learning how to use Facebook properly can really help your business.
"In the days before the internet we used to put things in the paper, and we would put things on the radio and on the TV to get the word out to our ideal customers, and we still do all those things but now there's an opportunity to augment that through social media."
If you're someone who has never used Facebook in your life, or even considered using it as a way to advertise your business, fear not! The Facebook Masterclass is accessible for all levels of experience, says Simone.
"We have people who are running a lot of different campaigns, that have been using Facebook for a long time and just want to know how to make the most of it with all of the algorithm changes and they're struggling to meet their audiences organically, through to people who go 'I've been told about this Facebook thing, I have a business and I don't know where to start.'
"It's usually a pretty broad cross section of people."
The Facebook Masterclass will cover topics from building your audience, to how to target specific groups of people with your marketing.
"We talk about actually looking at the data you have access to; how to build and engage a following; how to have people who are going to actively promote your business for you; how to create good content, and what makes good content; how often to post, what to post, why to post; and how to align the content that you're doing with the business goals you're trying to achieve."
