Over 15 years and 21 shows, they’ve mercilessly mocked all the usual political and celebrity suspects. We’ve watched Howard Tampa with refugees, Rudd give pennies from Kevin, Gillard refuse to be lectured by ‘that man’, ‘that man’ scrap the carbon tax, stop the boats and – um – get the budget back into surplus… But no one has been able to outplay, outwit or outlast The Wharf Revue. So, we’re throwing a party and everyone’s invited.
ANT Live were there to capture this Sydney Theatre Company presentation live on film and now your community can see it up close on the big screen!

What is your program?
A-Z with Az
“From Abba to Zappa”, each week A-Z with Az tackles a different music-related theme.
With my regular co-host Sarah, the challenge is to entertain ourselves (and our listeners) with one-and-a-half hours of music that fits our chosen theme.
Sometimes it's really daggy, like “Songs that feature saxophone solos” or “Songs that name-drop celebrities”, and other times we take a more academic approach, such as “Songs that reference capital cities”, or “Songs that have won Oscars”.
We try to play a broad range of music, and listeners can enjoy trying to guess what’s coming up next (although we are notoriously hard to predict).
Sarah and I like to test each other’s knowledge on-air, and we drop and discuss trivia and facts relating to the week’s topic along the way.
How did you get involved with the station?
Many years ago, a colleague commented to me, “You've got a good radio voice”. I laughed it off at the time, but it planted a seed that I eventually followed up.
I had done a couple of interviews on The Vibe and would often catch Deb and Els in the morning, and realised that the announcers behind the microphone were just regular people. "I could do that", I thought.
Fortunately Roxfm is always looking for new presenters, and my training was relaxed and stress-free, compared with doing complex (and expensive) radio courses in Adelaide.
Being involved with Roxfm has given me skills that I can now use in many facets of my life.
Why did you decide to do your program?
I have been producing 'A-Z with Az' since the beginning of 2017. I was looking for a way to get involved with the community, and as a family-less non-sportsman, I found it was one of the ways I could contribute towards the 'spirit' of this town.
I like all kinds of music and am constantly surprised by some of the gems (and horrors) we've been able to dig up. I enjoy the act of sharing these with the listening audience.
What do you love about doing your radio program?
I look forward to planning and broadcasting my show every week. It has become one of my favourite hobbies. I enjoy both the creative and analytical elements.
We all sang into hairbrushes in front of the mirror as kids, dreaming about one day being famous, but few of us ever get our fifteen minutes in the spotlight. I feel that being involved with Roxfm partly satisfies this childhood fantasy.
The adrenaline rush you get having to be spontaneous and level-headed at the same time, knowing that someone out there might be listening to you, is indescribable.
Do you enjoy doing anything else at RoxFM?
I like to get involved as a presenter with Roxfm's outside broadcasts.
I like supporting community events and enjoy broadcasting interactively with other presenters and the public
